The BSC Tennis Team

Young Sahansa Jayawardene, daughter of former Sri Lanka Cricket Captain Mahela Jayawardene, produced a superb performance to help the British School in Colombo (BSC) secure victory at the Ritzbury Sri Lanka All-Island Inter-Schools Tennis Tournament played at the Queens’ Club Courts in Colombo.

Playing in the Girls’ Division 2 Plate final, the BSC defeated Bishop’s College 4-1 to lift the title.

Sahansa gave her team a strong start by beating Inuli Perera 4-1 in a key Singles match.

Her consistent groundstrokes and clever placements proved too much for her opponent, as she controlled the game from the baseline.

In other matches, her teammates followed up strongly to seal a comfortable win, marking a proud day for the BSC in this popular schools tennis championship.
