Did you know you have a super helper inside your body that works all day and night—even while you sleep? It’s called the liver, and it’s one of the most important organs in our bodies.

Let’s take a fun journey and learn how this amazing machine keeps you strong and healthy.

Put your hand on the right side of your chest, just under your ribs. That’s where the  liver lives. It’s a big, reddish-brown organ—about the size of a small football. It’s soft and smooth, and it weighs about 1.5 kilograms in an adult. That’s pretty heavy for an organ.

The liver is like a busy factory. It has over 500 different jobs. But here are some of the top 5 actions the liver does.

  1. Cleans the blood

Every time you eat, drink, or take medicine, it goes into your blood. Your liver checks everything and removes harmful stuff, like poisons or too much sugar or fat. It’s like a super smart filter.

  1. Stores energy

When you eat, your food turns into energy. The liver stores some of this energy as sugar (glucose). When you run or play and need more energy, your liver sends that sugar back into your blood—like a battery charger.

  1. Makes important juices

Your liver makes a greenish juice called bile. Bile helps your tummy digest fats (like oil, butter, or cheese). It’s stored in a small pouch called the gallbladder, waiting to help when you eat.

  1. Builds body proteins

The liver helps make proteins that your body uses to build muscles, heal cuts, and stop bleeding.

It’s like your body’s little construction worker.

  1. Fights germs

The liver also helps protect you from germs and viruses by spotting and fighting them off—just like a superhero with a shield.

Even superheroes need help. Here’s how you can take care of your liver:

*Eat fruits and vegetables like carrots, apples, and greens

* Drink lots of water

* Avoid too much junk food or sugary drinks

*Move your body—play, run, dance, or ride your bike

*         Don’t take medicine unless your doctor says so

The liver works hard for you—so give it the love it deserves.

The liver can grow back if a part of it is damaged or taken out. It’s one of the only organs in the body that can do that. That’s why it’s sometimes called the regrow-able organ. Amazing, right?

Your liver may be hiding under your ribs, but it’s always working hard to keep you safe and strong. It’s your body’s silent superhero—cleaning, storing, building, and protecting every single day.

So next time you take a bite of your lunch or run around the playground, remember to give a little thank-you to your liver—your amazing, awesome, hard-working helper!
