The Sri Lanka-Nordic Business Council (SLNDBC) held its Members Day at the Port City Gallery recently. Council President Shameel Mohideen welcoming the guests, said the SLNDBC operates under the aegis of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce.
“Our core objective remains steadfast: that is to strengthen economic ties between Sri Lanka and Nordic countries by expanding trade relations, particularly by exports to Nordic countries, promoting tourism by positioning Sri Lanka as a preferred destination for Nordic travellers, and facilitating joint ventures and investments, and creating opportunities for businesses,” he said.
A panel discussion on “Nordic Insights: Accelerating Sri Lanka’s Digital Economy ” was also held. It was moderated by Chief Economic Policy Advisor at the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce, Sanjaya Ariyawansa.
Director General, Board of Investment, Renuka Weerakoon , Director, Export Services, Export Development Board, Indumini Kodikara and Director Operations, SLASSCOM, Sampath Jayasundara also spoke. Officials of diplomatic missions, stakeholders, sponsors and Sri Lanka-Nordic Business Council members were also present.
