Air India (AI) will add a second daily flight to Colombo from July 7. This addition will bring Air India’s weekly frequency between Delhi and Colombo from seven to 14 flights. The new service AI277 will depart Delhi at 3.25 am, arriving in Colombo at 7.15 am, with the return flight AI278 departing Colombo at 8.20 am and reaching Delhi at 11.55 am.
This major capacity increase is reflective of the rising demand between India and Sri Lanka, driven by tourism and the strong economic ties between the two countries. AI will also begin new flights to Kathmandu and Bangkok the same day. SriLankan Airlines also operates double daily flights between New Delhi and Colombo. TTW
