Vihas Thewmika of Thurstan College and Manudi Nanayakkara of Princess of Wales College stole the limelight as they took the individual honours at the Western Province Cricket Association (WPCA) Awards Ceremony 2024, held at the Colombo Cricket Club pavilion.
Dynamic all-rounder Thewmika received the Best Schoolboy Cricketer Award for his outstanding performances having also led Sri Lanka at the 11th Asian Cricket Council Under-19 Asia Cup Tournament in the United Arab Emirates last year.
Meanwhile, 17-year-old Manudi won the Best Schoolgirl Cricketer Award for her splendid contributions for the Sri Lanka Women’s Under-19, ODI and T20 Teams as a batting all-rounder.
Manudi made her Women’s ODI debut against New Zealand at Napier in March, 2025 and made her Women’s T20I debut against the same opponents at Christchurch in March, 2025.

Under-19 Girls’ Best Batter: Lihansa Thulmi (Yasodara Balika MV), Under-19 Girls’ Best Bowler: Vishmi Soysa (Princess of Wales College), Under-19 Girls’ Player of the Tournament: Erandi Hansamali (Wadduwa MV). Best Girls’ School Cricketer of the Year: Manudi Nanayakkara (Princess of Wales College), Best Boys’ School Cricketer of the Year: Vihas Thewmika (Thurstan College).
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) President Shammi Silva was the Chief Guest while senior officials of SLC and WPCA also graced the occasion.
