Skate free, rise together

ELEV8 and the rise of Sri Lanka’s skate culture

What began in the mountain city of Kandy has become a national call to roll. ELEV8 isn’t a mere skate club — it’s a movement built for everyone in Sri Lanka. Whether you’re in a city or deep in the hills, if you’ve got the passion, there’s a place for you here.

In a country where skateboarding is still finding its footing, ELEV8 is carving out space for anyone and everyone — especially those from low-income, rural, or minority communities who often have little access to sports facilities or opportunities for personal growth. With mobile skate workshops, shared gear, and open sessions, we teach, support, and grow together — one push at a time.

This is about more than tricks and ramps. It’s about mental strength, physical freedom, and building a community that lifts each other up. Our vision is to create a thriving, inclusive skate scene across Sri Lanka — with permanent skateparks, training programs, and platforms for local skaters to shine.

“We’re actively seeking funding, grants, and partnerships to expand this movement and reach more people — because when one of us rises, we all do,” a spokesman for ELEV8 said.
