Yet another exciting day unfolded for the 33 finalists of the Miss Universe, Sri Lanka 2025 when they gathered recently attired in an assortment of stylish swim suits for the Miss Universe Sri Lanka mini contest held to choose the Best in Swimwear.

The beauties were privileged to get into the latest fabulous range of amanté’s swimwear. amanté, Sri Lanka’s leading intimate apparel brand – the main sponsor of Miss Universe, Sri Lanka 2025 featured through the girls their swim wear’s trending styles and fashionable prints which can be mixed and matched to create multiple looks.

Leading the pack attired smartly at the poolside leading from the front was the reigning Miss Universe, Sri Lanka 2024, Melloney Dassanayaka. Melloney who participated in the pageant last year in Mexico and has presented herself in swim wear on an international platform.

While the 2025 contestants took a dip in the pool we sat Melloney down by the pool for a brief chat to find out first hand on what her experience was like, especially on the Swim wear when it comes to International pageants.

Q. Can you tell us of your experience when you walked the ramp in a swimsuit at the Miss Universe International pageant?

A. “Participating in the swim suit round at Miss Universe was an empowering and unforgettable experience. Miss Universe is not just a beauty pageant, it’s one of the most prestigious and competitive platforms in the world, where women from across the globe come together to celebrate confidence, strength and individuality. The swim suit segment in particular, is a moment where you don’t just showcase your physique but your discipline, elegance and the way you carry yourself under pressure.”

“Wearing a swimsuit on such an international stage demands immense confidence and it was inspiring to witness how each contestant brought her own story, culture and strength into that moment. I was proud to stand among such remarkable women, each representing their countries with grace and pride, it truly reminded me that beauty is diverse and multifaceted and that confidence is the most beautiful thing a woman can wear”

Q. How do you see this year’s contestants at the Miss Universe Sri Lanka mini “Best In Swimwear” contest?

A. “It was a celebration of boldness, individuality and self love. I was truly inspired to see each contestant stepping onto the ramp not only to showcase their physical beauty, but to express their personality through their walk, their presence and each one’s unique sense of style.

What stood out the most was the confidence that radiated from every girl. You could see how much preparation, discipline and inner strength went into that moment.

Each of them brought out something special. It was a powerful reminder that beauty does not come in shape or form, but how they embraced who they are and projected their inward energy outwardly.

Q How was it like wearing amante swim wear?

A. “Wearing amante as the reigning Miss Universe Sri Lanka was truly an empowering experience. As I see it, amante is more than just a brand, it’s a celebration of womanhood. It appears to understand the female form in a way that feels almost personal. No sooner I got into their swimwear I felt an incredible sense of confidence and comfort and strength.”

“What I love most is how seamlessly amanté blends elegance with empowerment. Their designs just don’t only fit your body they embrace it. Every piece I wore felt like it was tailored just for me, hugging every curve with purpose and intention. It’s not just about looking good, its about feeling unapologetically yourself, and that’s the true essence of beauty. With such praise from the reigning Miss Universe Sri Lanka Sunday Observer Explorer spoke to Padmal Silva, Executive Director amanté and asked him to describe this the new range.

With support to reach international standard even in the attire, the contestants looked a happy bunch at the pool enjoying the day.
