Asian International School (AIS) raised the bar in school sports by hosting a flawless Inter-International Schools Under-14 Netball Tournament 2025 at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo.

The event, officiated and highly praised by the umpires of the Sri Lanka Netball Referees Association, was lauded for its smooth flow and international-standard organisation.

15 leading international schools from across the country took part in the tournament, which was conducted in a highly professional manner from start to finish.

The referees from the Sri Lanka Netball Referees Association, who officiated in every match, commended AIS for its excellent organising ability. They praised the school for maintaining high standards in match scheduling, court management, and facilities – raising the profile of junior-level netball tournaments in the country.

The success of the event was made possible under the guidance of AIS Head of Sports, Nihara Bagoos, who led a dedicated organising committee supported by committed teachers, staff members and students.

Among those who played a key role was AIS Under-14 Netball Captain, Ruckshekah Sivakumaran, who also assisted the organising team with coordination and planning.

Speaking at the end of the tournament, the Head of Tournament Committee led by AIS Head of Sports Nihara Bagoos expressed her gratitude to the school management and Principal Harshana Perera for giving them the opportunity to host such a prestigious event.

“It was an honour to be part of the organising committee.

“I sincerely thank our school leadership for trusting us and giving us this amazing platform,” she said.

The tournament not only provided a valuable competitive experience for young netball players but also promoted friendship, discipline, and teamwork among schools.

With this successfully hosted event, AIS has once again proven their excellence in both academics and co-curricular activities – standing tall as a leader in holistic education in Sri Lanka.
