An exciting month is ahead for the avid traveler, particularly those who have an inclination for wildlife. As our cover story reveals the Giants Gathering that has won international attention, will yet again be in the spotlight this year too, next month in Habarana.
With the recent tragic loss of life in the plane crash in India, there has been much discussion and concern and fears about flight safety. A long past request for an interview pre- scheduled for this week appeared to be coincidentally an opportune time to focus on our own national carrier and give our HOTSEAT to the Head of Commercial, Dimuthu Tennakoon to learn more aspects of our Airline. HANGLA- OCEAN LOUNGE
We commence this week a new series, titled ‘City Hang-outs and Good Food News’ in which we will travel to all the city Hang outs and good food that is there on offer in the city, and inform you every week of places that serve a variety of food that will tantalize your taste buds and located in the environs that you will find to be unique.
The feature on Page 33 this week is of the major roof top restaurant HANGLA- the Ocean Lounge at the most sought after commercial shopping address in the city, One Galle Face.
NEW DOMESTIC Airline
There’s great news in the domestic Airline sector, with new companies emerging to fill in the vacuum, to provide the services the Industry experts have been complaining Sri Lanka lacks. It is indeed heartnening that there is progress in this sector and we are delighted to feature this on this page opposite this column.
Sri Lankan pavilions attracting crowds
Sri Lanka Tourism has been gaining ground in reaching the potential travelers, with people crowding en masse at the Sri Lankan pavilions at the trade fairs held overseas. Pages 32 and 33 reports reveal the success stories in Russia, Spain and South Korea.
