Nalanda College, Colombo, a leading Buddhist school for Buddhist children in the capital, will mark its 100th anniversary on November 1.
A variety of programs are being implemented to mark the centenary.
The most significant of these is the Nalanda College Innovation Centre and Indoor Sports Complex, a project estimated to cost Rs. 600 million.
In conjunction with these programs, all arrangements have been made to hold the Nalanda Walk 2025 on July 20.
This year’s Nalanda Walk is being held after a 13-year hiatus. Organised by the Nalanda Old Boys’ Association, the Nalanda Junior Old Boys’ Association, and the Old Nalandians Sports Club, the walk will commence near the Malalasekera Hall of Nalanda College.
Principal of Nalanda College, U.D. Iran Champika de Silva said, “We have launched several projects in conjunction with Nalanda College’s Centenary celebrations. I invite all present students and old boys of the school to participate in this year’s Nalanda Walk 2025.”
