Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) recently donated 24 bowling machines to Major and Tier ‘B’ clubs under its National Pathway Program.
The donation was made following a decision by SLC President Shammi Silva and the SLC Executive Committee, with the aim of enhancing training infrastructure and elevating standards of domestic cricket in the country.
The machines were officially handed over during a special ceremony held at the Colombo Cricket Club.
The event was attended by SLC President Shammi Silva, Secretary Bandula Dissanayake and the Head of the National Development Centre Kamal Dharmasiri.
“This initiative is part of our ongoing commitment to uplift domestic cricket and provide clubs with the necessary tools to enhance player development,” said Bandula Dissanayake, Secretary of SLC.
The clubs which received the bowling machines: Major Clubs (14): Bloomfield Cricket and Athletic Club, Nondescripts Cricket Club, Colombo Cricket Club, Colts Cricket Club, Chilaw Marians Cricket Club, ACE Capital Cricket Club, Panadura Sports Club, Nugegoda Sports and Welfare Club, Tamil Union Cricket and Athletic Club, Badureliya Sports Club, Police Sports Club, Kurunegala Youth Cricket Club, Moors Sports Club and Burgher Recreation Club.
Tier ‘B’ Clubs (10): Malay Sports Club, Sinhalese Sports Club, Negombo Cricket Club, Galle Cricket Club, Navy Sports Club, Army Sports Club, Leo Cricket Club, Ragama Cricket Club, United Southern Cricket Club and Moratuwa Sports Club.
