Colombo South U19’s and Kandy U19’s recorded victories on day one of the SLYL Youth Under-19 Super Provincial Cricket Tournament matches played in Anuradhapura yesterday.
Colombo South U19’s beat Colombo North U19’s by six wickets and Kandy U19’s beat Galle U19’s by six wickets in their fixtures.
Puleesha Thilakarathna of Kandy U19’s scored an unbeaten 103 runs in 107 deliveries with 15 boundaries against Galle U19’s. Rehan Pieris Colombo South U19’s scored an unbeaten 91 runs in 84 deliveries with nine boundaries and three sixes against Colombo North.
The top four teams at the end of first round will qualify for the semi-finals.
Two semi finals will be held on June 28 at the Samadhi Grounds and Saliyapura Gajaba Regiment Grounds in Anuradhapura.
