Last week, the Observer Kids family lost one of its longest-serving editors, Dehini Pathiranage. Aunty Dehini, as everyone used to fondly call her, passed away peacefully last Tuesday. Aunty Dehini was a livewire behind the Junior Observer kids magazine for many years. Ever-smiling and kind and having two kids of her own, she always knew what children wanted to read and learn. She would guide the rest of the team on the content of the magazine and was always looking for new ideas to inform and entertain children.

She always had a moment to share with everyone on the team, no matter how busy she was. An old girl of Musaeus College, Colombo, Aunty Dehini retired from the Sunday Observer around five years ago but regularly kept in touch with all at the Observer Kids Chronicle. We will all miss her very much but she will always be in our hearts. May she attain the Supreme Bliss of Nibbana.
