The re-entry visas for Sri Lankans hoping to return to Israel have been extended until July 31, 2025, said a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism.
A special notice issued by the Ministry said that Israel’s Population and Immigration Authority (PIBA) had decided to extend the validity of re-entry visas for Sri Lankans currently in Sri Lanka.
The extension follows the ongoing volatile situation in Israel, exacerbated by the conflict with Iran, as well as the suspension of international flights to the country.
While international flights to Israel have now resumed, a spokesman for the Ministry said that the extension would permit Sri Lankans whose visas were to expire during their stay in Sri Lanka to return to Israel and resume employment until the new deadline.
