Ananda triumph

Ananda College produced another tremendous performance to upset the fancied St. Anthony’s College 30-27 in a thrilling Inter-Schools Under-19 League Rugby Tournament encounter played at the Nittawela Stadium in Kandy yesterday.

Meanwhile, Trinity College cruised to a rousing 29-7 victory over St. Joseph’s College in another fixture played at Longden Place yesterday.

In addition, Royal College routed Vidyartha College 29-7 at the Royal Sports Complex while Isipathana College defeated Zahira College 38-27 at Maradana.


Foreign referees for schools rugby matches

Foreign referees are likely to officiate in two key Inter-Schools Under-19 League Rugby Tournament matches, scheduled for next week.

The Inter-Schools rugby matches that will be officiated by the foreign referees are: Royal vs Trinity and S. Thomas’ vs Isipathana. These four schools are seeking approval from the Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association to invite two foreign referees from the Asian Rugby Elite Referees Panel.


Doping tests at schools rugby matches

The Sri Lanka Schools Rugby Football Association (SLSRA) officially commenced random doping tests during the Inter-Schools Under-19 League Rugby Tournament matches played yesterday.
