It was indeed on a sad note that we commenced work early this week, hearing of the passing of Maureen Hingert, a beauty Queen par excellence. We have dedicated most of our section on Life & Leisure to her. Please see page 31.
We will dedicate from time to time those who have been legends of our time. We will feature those amongst the living and those who have sadly passed. We owe them so much for the legacies they have left behind in making our world better.

It has been an amazing time for the chefs in the country lately with competitions and medals galore being won by pour expert chefs. You too can see through pictures some of their skills on this page next to this column and also see page 29 for the chef winners of the Cinnamon City Hotels.
The best of Japanese Food in Sri Lanka
Since I have had the privilege of having visited Japan three times, and experienced the delicious dishes of Japanese food, I would know when I taste it- if its got the best of flavoures and this is what I found when I traveled to yet another city Hang out- that has become the favourite to city travelers and that is located at the Ports City. I found “Good Food News” for my weekly column and came across Nihonbashi – It was like entering Japan, the rest is history and is featured on page 29 all about this unique place to hang out and have good food.

For those who follow or enjoy fashion trends we feature a great selction by three very talented dress designers . Their collections titled ‘ layers of Russian Elegance” were showcased at the Russian Cultural Centre recently, you too can have a peek at their beautiful elegant designs on page 32.
