Bishop’s College, led by Sharmali Soysa, emerged victorious in the inaugural Battle of The Queens Past Pupils Cricket League Nine-a-Side Cricket Tournament, jointly organised by the Past Pupils Associations of Bishop’s College, St. Bridget’s Convent, Ladies’ College and Methodist College and held at the Wesley College Grounds.
Former national tennis champion Mahesha Senevirathne steered Bishop’s College to victory in the final with an unbeaten 49 runs.
The championship trophy and the runners-up trophy were donated by the Ladies’ College OGA President Chantal De Saram in memory of former Captain of the Sri Lanka Women’s Cricket Team Neloufer Philips Arasakumar.
