It is a matter of great pride for a school to produce three outstanding individuals who have rendered a great service to the country in the same year. Pannipitiya Dharmapala College can be called a prestigious school that has produced such outstanding individuals.
In 1997, the Air Force Commander, Air Chief Marshal Oliver Ranasinghe, the Army Commander, General Rohan Daluwatte, and the Navy Commander (Acting), Rear Admiral D.K. Dasanayake, all three of them, were alumni of this college.
An awareness program about this historic event was recently held for current students at the school, under the patronage of Principal, M. Rupasinghe.

On this occasion, tributes were paid to the statue of the founder of the school, Anagarika Dharmapala, and a group portrait of these three great men was unveiled. The school’s deputy principals, assistant principals, and students participated.
