The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura will host its inaugural book fair and subject promotion campaign – Japura Expo 2025, from July 23 to 25 at the university premises.
The three-day event will feature stalls from leading publishers, including the Central Cultural Fund (CCF), and the Buddhist Cultural Centre.
Japura Expo 2025 is jointly organised by the Faculty’s Publication Committee and the Students’ Union of FHSS. The initiative aims to cultivate student engagement with literature while offering academic orientation to prospective undergraduates.
Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Prof. Shirantha Heenkenda said, “We want to spread the word of literature to students and promote the reading habit. The aim of this book fair is academic and cultural, not commercial.” –DF
