Sri Lanka’s reigning national amateur champion, junior match play champion and proud student of Asian International School, Jevahn Sathasivam, is set to represent his country at the prestigious Dutch Junior Open 2025, which will be played from July 16 to 19 at the Toxandria Golf Club in the Netherlands.

For the 17-year-old, this isn’t just another overseas event — it’s a rare and valuable opportunity to test his skills against some of the world’s top young golfers in one of Europe’s best-known junior tournaments.

Jevahn’s consistent form in local tournaments and his calm, focused approach on the course have made him one of Sri Lanka’s most exciting golfing prospects.

Since its inception in 1984, the Dutch Junior Open has gained a reputation as a breeding ground for future stars. Past winners like Danny Willett, who went on to claim the coveted Masters title and European Tour players Daan Huizing and Wil Besseling, all cut their teeth at Toxandria.

The tournament draws an international field of under-21 golfers and is famous for its challenging layout and highly competitive environment.

Jevahn, who has dominated the local golf scene by claiming both the national amateur and junior match play titles, earned his place in this year’s Dutch Junior Open through a string of strong performances.

He has regularly impressed in local ranking tournaments and steadily built his reputation as one of Sri Lanka’s top junior golfers.

“It’s a great opportunity for me to play in a tournament like this and gain experience,” Jevahn said before his departure. “I’m looking forward to seeing where my game stands among players from different countries.”
