Cargills (Ceylon) PLC has appointed Chulantha Wickramaratne to its Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director. He is a respected figure in the fields of public finance, audit, and governance, having most recently served as the Auditor General of Sri Lanka from 2019 to 2025.
Wickramaratne brings over three decades of experience in public sector financial oversight, institutional reform, and policy advisory roles.
As Auditor General, he led complex audits across government ministries, public corporations, and state-owned enterprises, while also serving as a principal advisor to key Parliamentary Oversight Committees such as COPA and COPE. His appointment is expected to further strengthen governance frameworks across the Group.
He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, a qualified accountant with the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA), UK, and an Associate Member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka.
He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Special) degree and has served in numerous national and international capacities, including as a Council Member of CA Sri Lanka and a member of the Public Sector Accounting Standards Committee.
Wickramaratne was previously appointed to the Board of CT Holdings PLC. To facilitate this appointment, Ms. Tara Page tendered her resignation from the Board of Cargills. Ms. Tara Page served as a Non-Independent Non-Executive Director since 2024.
