The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB), in collaboration with the Embassy of Sri Lanka in Korea, successfully concluded the 2025 Mega Roadshow in Busan at the Lotte Hotel, following Sri Lanka’s impactful participation at SITF 2025 and Seoul Mega Road Show.

This milestone event highlighted Sri Lanka’s cultural richness, spiritual depth, and sustainable tourism offerings, drawing strong engagement from Korean travel trade professionals, OTAs, and media.

The program began with the traditional oil lamp lighting ceremony, followed by captivating Sri Lankan cultural performances that brought the island’s heritage to life in Seoul.

A Moment of deep spritual significance

The participation of the Chief Incumbent of the Lankaramaya Temple and from Korea symbolized the Buddhist and cultural bonds between the two nations.

Business meet culture

Over 22 Sri Lankan travel and tourism stakeholders engaged in B2B networking with more than 50 Korean tour operators and 20+ media houses, opening doors for new partnerships.

Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Korea, Savitri Panabokke, Ms.Thanuja Muniweera, Deputy Director Advertisng and Country Officer Marketing (South Korea), SLTPB, Chairperson of the Seoul Tourism Association, Chammika Iddamalgoda, Country manager for SriLankan Airlines in South Korea, expressed their continued commitment to strengthening tourism ties and air connectivity between the two nations.

Direct flights from Incheon to Colombo via SriLankan Airlines are already operational, with scope for further expansion to meet the rising demand from Korean travelers.

As this year also marks 50 years of diplomatic relations, the Seoul Roadshow served as a celebration of mutual respect, shared values, and the spirit of cultural and spiritual exchange.
