The National Police Commission has decided to dismiss former State Intelligence Service (SIS) Director Nilantha Jayawardana from the Police Service following a disciplinary inquiry which found him at fault for failing to take prompt action on intelligence received prior to the Easter Sunday attacks. After the report was submitted to the National Police Commission, the Commission decided to dismiss Nilantha Jayawardena when it met on Friday (18) under the chairmanship of retired High Court Judge Lalith Ekanayake.
