Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), since 2017 has been supporting the Mercantile Cricket Association (MCA) by donating the full requirement of white cricket balls for their three major 50-over tournaments.
SLC will continue to do so this year too by donating the full requirement of 622 white balls, as requested by the MCA Tournament Committee for the MCA Super Premier League, the Premier League and the ‘C’ Division Tournament.
The Gray Cavalier white balls will be used for all three tournaments. The MCA Super Premier consists of the league, knock-out and the T20 matches. There are 10 teams in the Super Premier Tournament and will be held from September to November and the total number of matches are 50 and the ball requirement is 240 white balls.
There are 10 teams in the Premier League Tournament played from July to September and 50 matches will be played and it will require 190 white balls. There are 12 teams in the ‘C’ Division League Tournament played from June to August with 35 matches and it requires 192 white balls.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) handed over all 622 white balls at a ceremony held at the MCA Legends Wing.
