Sri Lanka put up a fine performance as they won 10 medals at the Open Taekwondo Championships held in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Sri Lanka Taekwondo Team secured four gold medals, three silver medals and three bronze medals to complete a successful tournament.
Over 1,500 competitors from 26 countries participated in this event, with Sri Lanka fielding a four-member contingent.
Sehath Rodrigo won two golds and one silver medal, Mihindu Rajaratne won two gold medals, Randini Vihansa won one silver and two bronze medals and Thunuhi Alwis – the youngest competitor in the tournament – won two silver medals.
In addition, Asitha Wickramathunga and Asanga Wickramathunga accompanied the team as Coach and Assistant Coach respectively.
