Care and Share implements 'Happily to School'

‘Care and Share’ social service women's movement, Puttalam, implemented its 22nd project themed ‘Happily to School’ at Zahira Infant School, Puttalam recently.

Around 60 students from the schools in the Puttalam city's disadvantaged schools, were provided school uniforms, shoes and stationery items for this year.

The projects have been implemented in schools such as Wettalai Asankuthoos School, Manalkunru Al-Azrak School and at Zainab primary School.

‘Care and Share’ is a group of volunteer women from Puttalam District, who are involved in community service. The funds for these projects are raised by them for the betterment of the poor.

The 'Care and Share' movement was started in 2015. It functions under the leadership of Fathima Hazara Hanifa Inaz. Board members of this movement are Rizana Minhar, Shareeha Mukshid, Hazra Fairuz, Sabnath Abras, Faisha Rashik Fareed, Fasmin Bisri, Amani Hima Bisri and Waheeba Farooq.

Provision of dry food packs for poor families during the holy Ramadan period, painting the centre for the differently-abled in Puttalam, providing stationery and food for the beneficiaries of the differently-abled centre and transport facilities for inmates for three days per week are done by this movement.

Care abd Share also contributes towards weddings, conducts psychological awareness seminars, provides a monthly allowance to a selected number of poor widowed mothers and organises various programs for mothers when they visit the Divisional Secretariat to obtain services.
