Hand grenades, Firearms found in Athurugiriya

Criminal Investigation Department today found a T-56 assault rifle at a house in Athurugiriya.

Four hand grenades, a pistol, two detonators, a firearm, 10 repeater ammunition, a pair of shackles, an air rifle, 600 ammunition and 3 DVD players were recovered, the Police Headquarters said.

The suspect has been handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department for further investigations.

The CID is conducting further investigations into the incident.
