The best gymnasts from the boys group Kirula Divaneth (U-6 St Aloysius’ Galle), Enura Menaka (U-7 Mahinda), Shanith Sandaru (U-8 Mahinda), Ruhan Karunanayake (U-9 Mahinda), Kithmi Yasitha (U-10 Mahinda), Adeesha Abhiman (U-11 Siri Dhamma Vidyalaya), Uvidu Chiran (U-13 Mahinda) and Sathmira Batagoda (U-15 Mahinda) along with the best girls Sanuthi Pudamya (U-6 Telferd International School), Yumetya Nethusali (U-7 Sangamitta BMV), Sanudi Sehansa (U-8 Rahula Vidyalaya Opatha), Kaveesha Nirmani (U-9 Southlands BMV), Lochana Esurindi (U10 Siri Dhamma Vidyalaya Labuduwa), Sasandi Disali (U-11 Sanghamitta BMV), Risindi Kithsara (U-13 Sir Dhamma Vidyalaya) and Sinali Ruhansa (U-15 Sangamitta BMV)
Junior gymnasts from Mahinda College and Sanghamitta Balika Vidyalaya in Galle produced some fine performances at the recently concluded Southern Province Junior Gymnastic Championship conducted by the Galle Gymnastic Foundation.
Six junior Mahindians and three junior Sanghamittians were adjudged best gymnasts. Enura Menaka (under-7),Sanith Sandaru (under-8), Ruhan Karunanayake (under-9), Kithmi Yasitha (under-10), Uvidu Chiran (under-13) and Sathmira Batagoda (under-15) were the best exponents from Mahinda College while the three Sanghamitthians to excel were Yumetya Nethusali (under-7), Sasandi Disali (under-11) and Sinali Ruhansa (under-15). Lakshman Kaluarachchi the treasurer of the National Gymnastic Association and Galle Gymnastic Foundation Secretary Nishantha Batagoda graced the awards ceremony.
