The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka has decided to keep players busy with online events and two team events held were a great success with the participation of 95 teams in Open events and 55 teams in the Women’s League from all parts of the country according tp Chess Federation President Luxman Wijesuriya
The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka has organizing the inaugural Sri Lanka Online Youth (Under 14 years) Chess Championships 2021 which started yesterday at the Chess.com platform.
The Swiss system 9-round event is open for all players in the country who are below 14 years as at January 1, 2021.
Three hundred players from all around the country have registered to play in the event to be conducted with strict anti cheating regulations where a player can use only laptops to play and he should be in a Zoom meeting throughout the game to observe him playing.
The Chess Federation of Sri Lanka said they have arranged attractive awards for the winners. (DR)
