Pride always comes before a fall

29 August, 2021

Some of us worry
About saying sorry,
After doing something,
You shouldn’t have done.
You heard shouts,
You heard screams,
And cries of, ‘Don’t do it please!’,
But after you did your dark deed,
From your audience, a deafening silence was heard,
But you still appeared quite unconcerned.
It was hurtful, it was mean,
It was enough to make your face go green,
With envy and hate that
Could lead you to an unexpected fate,
Where Death is inevitable,
In his point of view, anyone is eligible,
To be his next prey.
You’ll regret it,
Yes, you will,
Finally, you’ll admit,
That you’re afraid of him, more than saltwater crocodiles or lions, yourself.
You look back at the past,
Saying that he is no longer important,
For he only carries your woes and troubles,
Where your head would surely start to blow and bubble,
And would only make you go up in smoke and fury.
You might flashback and see what secrets he holds,
Such as the reason why people are terrified of you,
Hate and ignore you, and no longer want to even talk to you.
It’s Your Foolishness,
Your Anger,
Your Hatefulness,
And Your Behaviour.
It’s extremely true that,
‘Yesterday is history,
And tomorrow is a mystery’,
But in Your dreadful case,
You cannot get over what you did,
For every time you begin to forget, and if you’re not alone,
Someone will surely recognise you from your face,
And point at you and whisper to their companions, who would glance at you,
With a sneer of dislike and walk with their heads hung low,
Would ignore.
Everyone believes that,
‘Today is truly a gift,
And that’s why we call it, The Present’,
Which applies to each and every one of us,
But thanks to you,
One of us would have to spend,
The rest of our life cooped up in a bed that bends,
Where you can only talk to shelves, and doors,
Books and Windows,
Flowers and toys,
Without having to play with the other girls and boys.
You’re a Beast,
You’re Callous,
You’re as mean as a small giant wanting to learn how to become tall, and wouldn’t care what happens to the others by his actions,
You wanted Revenge,
You took it,
The poor kid in hospital only accidently broke the glass of your priceless picture frame,
Which you brought for show and share, everyone adored it, but now you have to walk around in shame,
If you easily afforded the picture with the frame, how much would that glass cost you?...
Someone’s life according to you,
Think logically,
Not selfishly, putting others in danger,
For the sake of your own pleasure.
It’s never too late,
To say sorry.
Just swallow your foolish pride and apologise.
Try to make up for all you’ve done, and you’ll notice that the gate,
That the rest of your peers built between you and their selves,
Will shatter with a blast, like a tennis ball hitting a glass,
It’s astoundingly amazing how one sincere sorry can undo a lot of hurts.
It’s the perfect cherry on top of your dessert.
Remember that pride comes before a fall!
