Incumbent president of the Sri Lanka Automobile Drivers Association (SLADA) Rizvi Farouk was elected for a second term at their AGM held at the Grand Monach Hotel, Thalawathugoda on Thursday. His name was proposed by Dilhan Jayawardena and seconded by Yoga Perera while Rasika Adikari and Malika Senasekera were elected as Secretary and Treasurer respectively.
The only new comer to the Committee was champion driver Ashan Silva who was elected uncontested.
Speaking to the Sunday Observer Farouk said due to the prevailing situation in the country most of the meets that were planed were postponed but steps will be taken to conduct the meets as early as possible.
SLADA this year conducted the only meet named as ‘Ice Breaker’ at the Gajaba Army Cantonment in Saliyapura, Anuradhapura. The other meets to be conducted by SLADA are Sigiriya Super Cross. Gajaba Super Cross Saliyapura, Gunner’s Super Cross and Minneriya,Rotherham Circuit Meet at Katukurnda,
