Swami Vipulananda’s 130 birth anniversary celebrated

The 130th birth anniversary celebration of erudite Tamil scholar Swami Vipulananda was organized by the Batticaloa Municipal Council at his statue situated at Fountain Park opposite the courts complex Batticaloa recently (03). The function that was held under the leadership of the Deputy Mayor of the Batticaloa Municipal Council Kanthasamy Sathiyaseelan was attended by the Deputy Commissioner U.Sivarasa who garlanded the statue. The students of Batticaloa Vincent Girls” Higher School sang his famous signature song “Vellai Nira Malligaiyo Verentha Mamalaro”. The members of the Batticaloa Municipal Council and Swami Vipulananda commemoration committee paid floral tributes.
