Lyceum and Walala athletic champs

Lyceum International School, Wattala and Walala Ratnayake Central emerged the boys and girls overall Champions respectively at the 90th Sir John Tarbat Senior Athletic Championship concluded at Mahinda Rajapaksa Stadium, Diyagama on Friday.

The four day event saw a total of 12 new meet records set at this year’s championship with Isuru Kaushalya of Ananda Sastralaya national school Mathugama being adjudged men’s best athlete.

Sprinter Isuru Kaushalya produced a stunning time of 46.96 seconds to win the Under-20 boys’ 400 metres race that earned him the best athlete’s title.
