Mohamed Aakif played the role of an all rounder to steer S. De S. Jayasinghe Central to victory by three wickets over Ashar College, Akurana in their under-19 schools division III Tier B limited overs cricket encounter played at Dehiwala recently.
Batting first, Ashar College scored 133 runs in 35 overs with Mohamed Imash and Mohamed Rinshad scoring 33 and 38 runs respectively.
Nidul Dulnath captured five wickets and Mohamed Aakif claimed three wickets.
In reply S. De S. Jayasinghe Central, raced to the target off just 19.4 overs but lost seven wickets in the process.
Mohamed Aakif proved his talents as a batsman too scoring 56 runs off 28 balls including five sixes and five fours to steer his school to victory.
