Thailand Ambassador hails Budget proposals

Thailand Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Poj Harnpol expressed satisfaction at the Budget proposals of President and Finance Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe when a group of members of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) led by its president Keerthi Gunawardane met the Ambassador, at the Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo.

The Ambassador welcomed the development plans for the rural economy, digital economy, green economy and agriculture.

He said that Thailand is ready to support Sri Lanka to gain knowledge in these areas. There are many possibilities for both countries to work together and share knowledge in agriculture.

He stressed the need to improve the ease of doing business in Sri Lanka.

The FCCISL proposed a collaboration withThai organisations and partners to move forward this initiative for the benefit of regional chambers.

“We stated that in the proposed FTA with Thailand we can take into consideration all the benefits for both countries and ensure the FCCISL will work to improve the ease of doing business and work as a catalyst to improve business between Thailand and Sri Lanka,” Gunawardena said. - SS
