Old Trinitians AGM on December 10

4 December, 2022

Old Trinitians Sports Club will have their AGM on Saturday December 10 at the club house and this time one of their hard workers who is the present secretary and a fine sports promoter Dr. Indika Ratnathilaka is tipped to take over the presidency from Manjula C Weeraratne who has completed his two year term.

This club gives a big hand to Trinitians who at one time played A division rugby and they also took part in cricket and hockey.

The original idea of forming Old Trinitians SC came from the late A.G.G. Perera a old boy who on May 6, 1978 requested the then Principal to look into the possibilities of forming a club. His intentions were mainly to give the present boys an opportunity to take part in sports at a high level and gain experience.

On July 19, 1980 the OTSC was formally inaugurated with A.G.G. Perera as the first president with 53 members elected as founder members.

This club is housed in the picturesque environs of Asgiriya with sylvan surroundings reminiscent of an English cricket club.

For this clubhouse the man who did the entire spade work was the late H.M. Halimdeen who also promoted all sports and the man who helped to build it was Nahil Wijasuriya.
