US$ 121 mn paid to India from IMF loan - State Minister

US$ 121 million was used to repay the installment of the Indian Credit Line from the first tranche of the IMF extended loan facility, ” Finance State Minister Dr. Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said.

It was repaid the day before yesterday. Such loans given by the International Monetary Fund are credited to the account of the Central Bank. But this time, funds have been credited to the account by the Treasury Deputy Secretary, and it can be used for debt stabilisation.
