Over 500,000 tourists visit Sri Lanka this year

The number tourist arrivals to Sri Lanka passed the half million mark attracting 524,486 visitors in the first five months (up to May). In May Sri Lanka attracted 83,309 arrivals which is an increase of 175.8% against 2022 May where Sri Lanka had only 30,207 tourists.

The main market for the third month in succession was India where Sri Lanka attracted 23,016 Indians with a 28% increase against the previous years’ May while Russian Federation was second with 7,760.
