The 11st edition of the French Spring Festival will be launched with a music live show to celebrate the International Music Day, with a special guest of honour for the occasion: the French singer Léa Paci.
For the International Music day, the French Spring Festival will offer a whole day dedicated to French and Sri Lankan music with a program in two stages on June 24: an open mic at the Alliance française of Colombo from 2.30pm to 5pm and a live music concert at the Sri Lankan Foundation Institute in the evening (with Sri Lankan bands and a French singer specially invited for the occasion: Léa Paci.
International Music Day, or Fête de la Musique, is celebrated every year on June 21. The first International Music Day was observed in France in 1982 when people were called upon to play music outdoors to participate in festivities. Since then, International Music Day has spread to other parts of the world and is now a global celebration of music.
The International Music day is organised within the framework of French Spring Festival organised every year by the French Embassy in Sri Lanka and Maldives together with the Alliance Française network in Sri Lanka and Maldives, with the support of sponsors and official partners.
The program of the day;
*Open Mic at Alliance Française of Colombo on June 24 from 2.30 pm to 5 pm.
*Live Music Show at Garden Nuga, Sri Lankan Foundation Institute with a live performance of French singer and guest of honour of the event Léa Paci, together with Sri Lankan artistes: The Soul, Radiesha and Tha Youngest on Saturday, June 24 at 6 pm.

Léa Paci,
Léa Paci, the French singer-songwriter was born and raised in the city of lights, Paris. She developed a passion for theatre and acting early on at age six leading her 10 years later to become a self-taught musician. After turning down french TV hooks several times and with the encouragement of her close circle, she began posting covers on YouTube, catching the attention of successful producers Tristan Salvati and Yohann Malory (known for Angèle, Louane…).
In 2017, Léa rose to fame with her debut album “Chapitre 1”, captivating audiences with her unique voice and style. With this album came two hit singles, “Pour aller où” and “Adolescente Pirate”, earning her 40 million streams, Top five rankings in the global radio airplay charts as well as a nomination as French Revelation at the NRJ Music Awards. She was invited on the most important TV shows and travelled all over France and Belgium to perform in concerts and festivals. She also became the face of the Adidas and Casio brand campaigns for two years.
Léa went on to collaborate with international artists such as James Blunt on the track “Cold” who invited her on his tour in the biggest french venues (zénith). In 2021, she collaborated with Japanese artiste Tigarah on an electro cover of Louise Attaque’s hit (J’t’emmène au vent), an unexpected but obvious project for Léa who grew up with electronic and French pop music.
