C. W. Mackie PLC as a part of its commitment to enhancing healthcare facilities in line with its CSR policy, took on the task of renovating the Accident and Emergency Ward of the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, aiming to improve the quality of emergency medical care for patients in critical conditions.

The organisation is making significant strides by constructing a new mini-operating theatre, which will be attached to the accident ward.

Executive Director of C. W. Mackie PLC, and Project Chair for CSR hospital projects Mangala Perera drives this phase of the long-standing engagement of C.W. Mackie with Sri Lanka’s healthcare sector, dating back to the 1990s.

The company’s initial involvement began with the renovation of the surgical ward at the National Hospital of Sri Lanka (NHSL) in Colombo. This early contribution demonstrated their dedication to enhancing medical facilities.

Acting Director of Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital, Dr. Dulan Samaraweera hailed it as a momentous occasion in the hospital’s history. Chairman, C.W. Mackie PLC, Hemaka Amarasuriya outlined the company’s rich heritage spanning over a century while reaffirming its commitment to creating a positive impact on society.
