England beat Pakistan by 93 runs runs in their last match of the cricket World Cup at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, India yesterday.
Both teams failed to qualify for the semi finals as Pakistan crashed all out for a total of 244 in reply to England’s total of 337 for 9 in the 50 overs.
Pakistan never looked like reaching the target as they lost the first two wickets for just 10 runs on the board.
England’s bowlers did pretty well keeping to a tidy line and length after their batters led by Ben Stokes thrashed the Pakistan bowlers to all corners of the field.
Stokes made 84 from 76 balls that had 11 fours and two sixes but his regained form came too late as England failed to make it to the semi finals with India meeting New Zealand in one semi final and South Africa taking on Australia in the other semi final.
