The number of tourist arrivals in Sri Lanka for the first half of November totalled 74,664 and the overall total for the year moved up to 1,200,119.
Again India remained as the best source destination for Sri Lanka accounting to 18% of the total arrivals (13,491) while Russian Federation was second with 12,580. (17%) after a lapse of several months Germany beat England to take the third spot in the arrival list sending 7,801 tourists (10%) while 4 United Kingdom was at fourth with 6,024 arrivals which is 8% of the total number of arrivals.
Australia with 4,621 (6%) was the fifth best destination for Sri Lanka. Highest arrival month for Sri Lankan Tourism was in July where the country attracted 143,039 and in August Sri Lanka had 136,405.
