NB 2514 private bus thugs attack SLTB buses

Two Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) buses of the Homagama bus depot plying from Kandy to Colombo and from Nawalapitiya to Colombo were attacked at Avissawella and Godagama.

A SLTB conductor who was injured in an attack by the crew of a private bus bearing number NB 2514 at Avissawella was admitted to the Avissawella Hospital and the conductor and the bus driver who were injured in the attack in Godagama are receiving treatment at the Homagama Hospital.

The conductor of NB 2514 bus and the timekeeper who worked at the Godagama intersection have been remanded following the assault in Godagama.

Private bus services on the Avissawella-Colombo route were adversely affected following the arrests of the thugs who disrupted the SLTB transport services. On the orders of the Actg. Inspector General of Police, Deshabandu Tennakoon security was tightened in the public passenger transport services in Avissawella, Kosgama, Shalawa, Godagama and Homagama.
