Following speculation that the GCE Ordinary Level examination due to be held in May would be postponed, Commissioner General of Examinations Amith Jayasundara said the official announcement regarding the examination will be released soon.
The Commissioner General of Examinations said that the evaluation of answer scripts of the GCE Advanced Level examination 2022 (2023) is already under way.
It was decided to increase the Rs.1,450 allowance paid for the examiners to evaluate the answer scripts to Rs. 2,000. The Cabinet had decided to pay the same allowance to the examiners who evaluate the 2023 (2024) GCE A/L answer scripts as well.
Chief Invigilators, Associate Invigilators, Chief Supervisors and Additional Chief Supervisors of the GCE (A/L) examination 2023 (2024) will also be paid the revised allowances for the GCE (A/L) examination 2022 (2023).
