Sri Lanka’s leading junior tennis player Dinara de Silva has entered the final of the ITF Junior Week 2 tennis tournament now in progress at the SSC courts.
She played excellent tennis to defeat Yu-Ching Wang of Chinese Taipei in straight sets in the semi-final yesterday. Dinara won the first set convincingly 6/1 and the second set also impressively 6/3.
Earlier, Dinara had to fight hard all the way to beat Naomi Hagi of Hong Kong in a three setter quarter-final game played on Friday (17). Dinara lost the first set on 4/6, but overcame stiff hurdles to win the next two sets 6/3, 6/1 to give her the morale booster.
