Rs. 4 m in cash prizes for Homagama Poson Lantern competition

The Dharma Rashmi Homagama Poson Zone which spans 13 kilometres covering Diyagama, Pitipana, Dampe, Meegoda, Godagama, Panagoda and Homagama will be held from June 21 to 24.

Cash prizes to the value of Rs. 4 million will be given to the winners of the Poson Lantern competitions for adults, school and Dhamma school students sponsored by Lake House, the print media sponsor.

Homagama Sasanarakshaka Bala Mandalaya, the Presidential Secretariat, the Ministry of Transport and Highways, the Western Provincial Council, Homagama Divisional Secretariat, Homagama Pradeshiya Sabha, Homagama Zonal Education office, the Army and the Police are jointly organising the Poson Zone.

The Poson Lantern competition in the Dharma Rashmi Poson Zone is open to one and all and it will be held in two stages, for adults, and for school and Dhamma school students.

Adults: Winners of the first, second and third place will receive Rs. one million, Rs. 500,000 and Rs.200,000 and from the fourth to the 14th place Rs. 50,000 each and from the fifteenth to the 25th place Rs. 25,000 each in cash prizes.

Children: Winners of the first, second and third place will receive Rs. 500,000, Rs. 200,000 and Rs. 100,000 each and for the fourth to the 14th place Rs. 30,000 each and from the fifteenth to the 25th place Rs. 20,000 each.

The rice and curry dansala, which is expected to be attended by over 100,000 people in Pitipana, and the Bhakthi Gee concert to be held daily from 7 pm at the Green University premises, will be telecast live on the Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation (SLRC), Independent Television Network (ITN) and the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC), with the print and digital media sponsorship of Lake House.
