The National People’s Power (NPP) Presidential candidate Anura Kumara Dissanayake said that the Government has not fulfilled the people’s expectations.

He was addressing a public rally at Tissamaharama.

He said, “The Government has failed to provide medicine to the poor and it has failed to construct roads and culverts in the villages.

The Government has also failed to provide facilities for schools.”

He said 68 percent of Sri Lankans cannot afford three meals a day, while the poor are having only one meal a day. Some have even pawned their wedding rings.

The rulers care less about the people’s misery.

The only thing that always existed in politics is for them to get rich. The state of our production is evident as eggs and chillies are also imported from India.
