The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) organised many events to mark World Tourism Day, on Friday, September 27 at the Information Centre at the BIA from 8.30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

SLTPB also interacted with the foreign tourists to experience Sri Lankan culture.

The activities included a Selfie Corner for foreign guests, traditional dance performances to entertain the guests, a special welcome by offering snacks with Sri Lankan tea, and a promotional gift for every tourist on his or her arrival to Sri Lanka.

SLTPB official Madubhani Perera said that with the new Government implementing the former ETA system compared to the controversial VFS Visa system, Sri Lanka could attract over 2.3 million tourist arrivals which would be the country’s best figure exceeding the best achieved in 2018.
