Gamini Warushamana assumed duties as the new Chairman of the Associated Newspapers of Ceylon Limited (ANCL) on Wednesday (September 25).
A past student of Bandarawela Central College, he began his career as a Business Journalist of the Sunday Observer. He holds a Master’s Degree in Mass Communication from the University of Kelaniya, Master’s Degree in Economics from the University of Colombo and BSc (Hons) Degree in Physical Science from the University of Kelaniya.
Warushamana has vast experience in administrative and research fields, having worked as Communication Specialist in the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations, Communication Consultant, Colombo Light Rail Transit Project (CLRT), Deputy Director, (Communication and Information), Anti-Corruption Committee Secretariat, Prime Minister’s Office and Information Executive, Presidential Secretariat.
