Six athletes who won gold and silver medals at the Asian Relay Championship held in Bangkok, Thailand recently, earned a cash award of Rs 2.4 million and the money will be divided among them.
President of Sri Lanka Athletics (SLA) retired Major General Palitha Fernando who received the money from the Asian Athletic Association made the presentation to the deserving athletes at the SLA headquarters.
The presentation was made to Aruna Darshana, Kalinga Kumarage, Pasindhu Kodikara, Dinuka Deshan, Sayuri Mendis and Nadeesha Ramanayake. (TBR)
